Yeomans Outdoor Leisure appoints Triquestra UK as its POS provider

Yeomans Outdoor Leisure has appointed Triquestra UK to provide the Infinity point of sale system across 86 UK stores.

Yeomans are the UK’s largest independent Camping and Outdoor Retailer, supplying tents, camping equipment and outdoor clothing with over 100 years’ experience. The Company employs over 300 people and has over 86 retail outlets ranging from high street stores to Garden Centre sites and large factory outlets.
The PoS solution developed for Yeomans has been in place since October 2009, and because the system is so easy to use, Yeomans now have the capability to build new tills themselves when opening a new store, a benefit that saves them both time and cost.

“Store managers report back that the system is reliable, robust and above all extremely stable” reports Roger Milner, Operations Director for Yeomans Outdoor Leisure.

Yeomans was established in 1904, and started out in life selling pit harnesses for ponies in the coal mines. This evolved through the war into selling army surplus kit, including some army tents. The first outdoor exhibition in the UK was held by Yeomans at Calver Crossroads in 1936, and 73 years later they still exhibit at the same site, plus over 30 more across the length and breadth of Great Britain.

“Camping has increased in popularity in recent years, and at our outdoor shows we operate the Infinity till system right in the middle of a field. We have the full EPoS facility interfaced into our Head Office systems as if this was just another High Street Store. This is a rigorous test for what is a robust, reliable and secure system” concludes Roger.
