Having a “home-made” mix of terminals, cash drawers, and receipt printers became a challenge to their company.
“Our old POS software system was server based, so if the network was down, our POS software was out of business,” stated Gary, “we needed a system that can handle our current volume, but also can expand as we need to.”
When choosing the right POS software, Gary wanted to make sure there was no single point of failure and that the POS software would be easy to use and had the ability to write a custom interface to their legacy back end system. In addition, Gary believes that the POS system is flexible enough with their future expansion.

The POSiflex JIVA 5815 touch terminal, with a small footprint design, was installed utilizing the Infinity POS software which can run every terminal fully independent of the main terminal or server. During the systems migration, Gary found that the POSiflex-Infinity POS retail point of sale system is very reliable and has made things much smoother during network and internet connection outages. There is no single point of failure and it can also help employees in Ganahl Lumber be more productive. With a high capacity of its hard drive, Gary found the systems can handle their current volume, but also can expand as they need it to.

Today, Ganahl Lumber currently has eight locations with up to 40 POSiflex-Infinity retail point of sale terminals.
